How a Security Company's Website Got Ready to Be Found on Google and Recommended by AI
Angels Protective Services had the reputation. Now its website is built to be found on Google and read by AI answer engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity. Here's the plan Wrk Less followed, and what changed.
The problem
You want to be the business people find, on Google and in AI
When someone near you needs what you do, they search Google. Or they ask ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews or Perplexity.
You want your business in that answer. That takes two things: SEO, so Google shows you, and AEO, answer engine optimization, which simply means making your website easy for AI tools to read, trust and quote.
Angels Protective Services wanted the same thing. It's a security company headquartered in Altamonte Springs, serving Central Florida and Orlando. Customers know the name. The website was ready for a glow-up so search engines and AI could read it just as clearly.
The starting point
We began with the company's own Google Search Console data, going back to 2026-08-05:
- 17 clicks and 553 impressions in total.
- In the last 28 days: 4 clicks from 152 impressions, a 2.6% click rate, at an average position of 30.1.
- On phones, the site's average position was 7.7. On desktop, 41.3.
- Nearly all clicks came from people searching the company's name. Service searches like "florida fire watch guards", "mobile patrol service" and "patrol services of orlando" ranked from 50 to 98.
What search engines and AI needed
- One address instead of two. The "www" and "non-www" versions were counted separately, so homepage results were divided across two addresses, 11 vs 6 clicks.
- Key pages to introduce. The fire watch and Orlando security pages showed as "URL is unknown to Google."
- Old addresses to point home. Older pages still got impressions, with no redirects in place.
- A fresh site map. Google showed 0 indexed of 15 pages submitted.
- Speed on phones. The homepage's main content took 20.2 seconds to appear on a phone, because of 1MB images.
Want AI and Google to recommend your business?
Your customers already trust you. Let's make sure search engines and AI do too. Book an AI systems assessment with Wrk Less, or call our AI receptionist on +1 407-259-4842 and ask what SEO and AEO could do for your site.
The plan we followed
- Start with real data. We built a targeting plan from the full Search Console history.
- Give AI something worth quoting. We researched and published an answer-first article, Fire Alarm Down in Orlando? What a Fire Watch Is and When You Need One, with question-style headings, FAQs and every figure cited from fire department sources.
- One clean address. Every version of the site now leads to one secure address, and old pages point to the matching service pages.
- A fresh site map. A clean 14-page list with real update dates, resubmitted to Google, with indexing requests for the key service pages queued.
- Speak AI's language. Instant change alerts to search engines, labels that tell Google what the business offers, and a plain-language summary file for AI answer engines.
- Fast on phones. With lighter images, the homepage's main content now appears in 2.0 seconds instead of 20.2, with no jumping around while it loads.
All of it follows Google's spam policies: no mass-produced or copy-paste city pages, no invented statistics, and approval before anything is published.
Before and after
| Before | After | |
|---|---|---|
| Web address | Split across two | One clean address |
| Key service pages | Unknown to Google | Submitted for indexing |
| Site map | 0 indexed of 15 | Fresh 14-page site map |
| Homepage on phones | 20.2 seconds | 2.0 seconds |
| AI answer engines | Not set up | Summary file and labels in place |
| Expert content | None yet | First fire watch article live |
What we expect next
These are expectations, not results yet: Google settling on one version of the site, the fire watch and Orlando security pages getting indexed, more Central Florida service searches finding the company as content builds, a better phone experience, and a better chance of being cited by AI answer engines.
We'll track it weekly in Search Console and update this case study with real numbers.
