**Short answer:** Jobber's AI Receptionist costs **$29/mo** as an add-on to the Core, Connect and Grow plans. Jobber's Receptionist help article says that includes **30 conversations**, then **$0.79 per additional conversation**, or you can set it to pause at the limit. It's included with unlimited usage on the **Plus** plan, which starts at **$399/mo** billed annually for 5 users. So the real bill depends on volume: about **$84.30** a month at 100 conversations and **$242.30** at 300, on top of your Jobber plan. Past roughly **209 conversations** a month, a 5-user team pays about the same for Grow plus the add-on as it would for Plus. If the add-on doesn't fit, the alternatives that actually work with Jobber fall into three groups: Jobber App Marketplace receptionists, a general AI receptionist connected through Zapier, or a custom voice agent that talks to Jobber's API.

Every price below comes from Jobber's own [pricing page](https://www.getjobber.com/pricing/) and help center, checked on October 26, 2026. The monthly totals are our arithmetic. We build AI receptionists and Jobber integrations at Wrk Less, so we've also included the setup details that change the bill.

If you're deciding between Jobber and GoHighLevel as the system that answers your phone, read our [Jobber Receptionist vs. GoHighLevel Voice AI comparison](/blog/jobber-receptionist-vs-gohighlevel-voice-ai) first. This post is only about what Jobber's add-on costs and what to use instead.

## How much is Jobber's AI Receptionist on each plan?

| Jobber plan (1 user unless noted) | Plan price, billed annually | Plan price, no commitment | Receptionist |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | $29/mo | $49/mo | $29/mo add-on |
| Connect | $99/mo | $139/mo | $29/mo add-on |
| Grow | $149/mo | $199/mo | $29/mo add-on |
| Grow, 5 users | $229/mo | $299/mo | $29/mo add-on |
| Plus, 5 users | $399/mo | $499/mo | Included, unlimited usage |

Jobber's pricing page lists Receptionist as an add-on on Core, Connect and Grow, and its Plus feature list includes "an AI-powered Receptionist." Plus starts at 5 users, so a solo operator can't buy Plus at the 1-user price.

One discount note: Jobber is running a "Save up to 40%" promotion for new customers on annual plans that ends October 30, 2026. The table above uses the regular list prices, because that's what renews.

## What does the add-on cost at your call volume?

The add-on bills by conversation, not by minute. A call counts when Receptionist actually engages the caller. A text thread stays open for 24 hours and counts once inside that window. Calls Jobber tags as spam or "no conversation" don't count, and overage lands on your next monthly renewal invoice as a "Receptionist Additional Usage" line.

| Conversations per month | Add-on cost (30 included) | If 100 were included |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | $29 | $29 |
| 100 | $84.30 | $29 |
| 200 | $163.30 | $108 |
| 300 | $242.30 | $187 |

Why two columns? Jobber's [Receptionist help article](https://help.getjobber.com/en/articles/receptionistpowered-by-jobber-ai/) (updated July 9, 2026) says 30 conversations. Its [add-ons article](https://help.getjobber.com/en/articles/add-on-features-to-your-jobber-plan-subscription/) (updated August 13, 2026) says the add-on "Includes 100 conversations per month." We re-checked both on October 26 and they still disagree. The help article also shows the invoice line as "Receptionist - 30 Conversations / Month at $29". Plan on 30, and treat 100 as a bonus if your checkout screen shows it.

The spam exclusion matters more than it looks. In one multi-business Retell workspace we audited in October, 158 of 493 inbound calls in 30 days were robocalls. If Jobber's spam tagging misses even part of that on your line, those calls count. Our [AI receptionist spam calls guide](/blog/ai-receptionist-spam-calls) covers how to filter them before they reach any AI.

## When is Jobber Plus cheaper than the Receptionist add-on?

Plus includes Receptionist with unlimited usage, so at some volume the upgrade pays for itself. For a 5-user team on annual billing, Grow is $229/mo and Plus is $399/mo, a $170 gap. The add-on reaches that gap at about 209 conversations a month ($29 + 179 × $0.79 = $170.41). On month-to-month billing the gap is $200 ($299 vs. $499), and the add-on gets there at about 247 conversations.

Plus also adds Pipeline, Marketing Suite, crew scheduling and Premium Support, so if you'd use those anyway, the break-even comes sooner. If you wouldn't, compare the overage against an alternative below before upgrading.

## What does Jobber's pricing page not tell you?

These five details change what you pay, or what you get, after you click buy:

1. **You can't test it on a live line during the free trial.** Jobber's add-ons article says "Add-ons are not available while in trial," and its [dedicated phone number article](https://help.getjobber.com/en/articles/dedicated-phone-number/) says dedicated numbers "are not available while in trial." Use Jobber's public demo line instead: 737-388-0043 (US).
2. **You need a Jobber dedicated phone number, and you can't change it.** You keep your existing number by forwarding calls to the Jobber number. Once you pick the Jobber number, it can't be changed.
3. **US numbers need A2P 10DLC registration.** Jobber requires it before texting works on the dedicated number. Expect a short wait, and see our [10DLC guide](/blog/a2p-10dlc-sms-consent-ai-receptionist-2026) for why carriers reject registrations.
4. **Pause is not free coverage.** If you choose pause at the limit, Receptionist still takes messages but "cannot book appointments" until the next billing cycle. Jobber emails admins at 75% of the limit (23 conversations) and again at 30.
5. **Texts and calls draw from the same pool.** A busy text thread counts once per 24 hours, but a customer who calls Monday and texts Wednesday is two conversations.

## Is quote follow-up part of Jobber's AI Receptionist?

No. Automated quote follow-ups are a separate Jobber feature. The pricing page lists "Automate quote and invoice follow-ups" as part of the Connect plan and above, and Plus. They aren't included on Core. Receptionist answers inbound calls and texts. Quote follow-ups chase quotes your clients haven't approved by email or text. You don't pay the $29 add-on to get them.

## What are the best Jobber AI Receptionist alternatives?

| Route | Example and published price (checked Oct 26, 2026) | What lands in Jobber | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber App Marketplace receptionist | ConvoForms, Conju, William AI, AdaptLocal and others in the "Online Phone / VoIP / Receptionists" category; pricing is on each vendor's site | Depends on the app: some create clients and requests, ConvoForms says it "books appointments directly into your Jobber schedule" | Read the listing. "Creates work requests" means someone still schedules the job |
| General AI receptionist + Zapier | [Rosie](https://heyrosie.com/pricing): $49 per month for 250 minutes. [Goodcall](https://www.goodcall.com/pricing): $79 a month for 100 unique customers. [Smith.ai](https://www.smith.ai/pricing/ai-receptionist): $0 for 25 calls/mo | Zapier's Jobber actions include Create Client, Create Request and Create Job | Runs after the call, can't check Jobber availability mid-call, and uses "the client's first property" |
| Custom voice agent on Jobber's API | [Retell](https://www.retellai.com/pricing): $0.07-$0.31/minute, plus the build | Whatever you design: matched client, property, request or visit | Setup cost, and you own the maintenance |
| GoHighLevel Voice AI | Covered in our [Jobber vs. GoHighLevel comparison](/blog/jobber-receptionist-vs-gohighlevel-voice-ai) | Nothing without a sync | Two systems claiming the caller record |

The Zapier detail catches people. Zapier's Jobber "Create Job" action creates the job "for the client's first property." For a property manager or a landlord with three rentals, that's the wrong address unless you add a lookup step. For the full booking picture across tools, see our [guide to AI receptionists that book appointments](/blog/ai-receptionist-book-appointments).

## When does a custom Jobber voice agent make sense?

We build these at Wrk Less, usually on Retell with n8n in the middle, when a Jobber shop needs something the add-on doesn't do: routing by ZIP code or on-call tech, writing the same call into GoHighLevel or QuickBooks, or matching a caller to the right property before anything is created. [Jobber's API](https://developer.getjobber.com/docs/) is GraphQL, so the agent can look up the caller by phone number mid-call, then create the request or visit in one step.

On a recent field-service build, the off-the-shelf Jobber and GoHighLevel app wasn't usable, so we built a direct Jobber connection and [one master customer record across Jobber, GoHighLevel and QuickBooks](/case-studies/jobber-gohighlevel-quickbooks-integration). That matching logic is the part a voice agent needs too. Our [Retell integrations and webhooks](/retell-ai-integrations-and-webhooks.php) page shows how the hand-off works.

If you mostly need booked visits, a Jobber-only schedule and under about 100 conversations a month, the native add-on is hard to beat. Our [AI receptionist pricing comparison](/blog/ai-receptionist-pricing-2026) prices six options side by side if you want the wider market.

## Checklist before you buy the add-on

- [ ] Count last month's inbound calls and texts separately, then estimate conversations
- [ ] Ask Jobber whether your account includes 30 or 100 conversations, and screenshot checkout
- [ ] Decide overage or pause before your busy season, and set call forwarding for pause
- [ ] Call the demo line twice to hear the returning-caller greeting
- [ ] Register the dedicated number for 10DLC before launch day
- [ ] Set escalation keywords (burst pipe, no heat) and test a live transfer, as in our [transfer-to-human guide](/blog/ai-receptionist-transfer-to-human)
- [ ] Compare your 6-month cost against Plus and one alternative

## Questions people ask

### How much does Jobber's AI Receptionist cost?

Jobber's AI Receptionist is a $29/mo add-on on the Core, Connect and Grow plans. Jobber's Receptionist help article says that includes 30 conversations, then $0.79 per additional conversation, or you can pause at the limit. It's included with unlimited usage on the Plus plan, which starts at $399/mo billed annually for 5 users. At 300 conversations a month, the add-on comes to about $242.30 on top of your plan (prices checked October 26, 2026).

### Does Jobber's AI Receptionist include 30 or 100 conversations?

Jobber's own help center disagrees. The Receptionist help article (updated July 9, 2026) says 30 conversations, and the add-ons article (updated August 13, 2026) says 100 conversations per month. Both still said that on October 26, 2026. The invoice line Jobber describes reads Receptionist - 30 Conversations / Month at $29, so budget for 30 and confirm with Jobber at checkout.

### When is Jobber Plus cheaper than paying for the Receptionist add-on?

For a 5-user team on annual billing, Grow is $229/mo and Plus is $399/mo, a $170 gap. The Receptionist add-on reaches that gap at about 209 conversations a month. On month-to-month billing the gap is $200 and the break-even is about 247 conversations. Plus also includes Pipeline, Marketing Suite and Premium Support, so the upgrade pays off sooner if you'd use those.

### Is quote follow-up included in Jobber's AI Receptionist pricing?

No. Automated quote and invoice follow-ups are a separate Jobber feature included on the Connect plan and above. Receptionist answers inbound calls and texts. You don't need the $29/mo Receptionist add-on to send automatic quote follow-ups.

### What are the best alternatives to Jobber's AI Receptionist?

There are three practical routes for a Jobber shop: an AI receptionist from the Jobber App Marketplace (some create requests, some book into the Jobber schedule), a general AI receptionist such as Rosie, Goodcall or Smith.ai connected through Zapier, or a custom voice agent that talks to Jobber's GraphQL API. Zapier runs after the call and can't check Jobber availability while the caller is on the line, so test the exact flow before you switch.
